Damping Frequency of a Viola Chin Rest (Senior Design Project, Mechanical & Industrial Engineering Department UIC) • Collaborated with a client to create a design that would damp the frequency of a viola chin rest • Collaborated with a team to create a solution to a complicated problem • Created a detailed proposal for our sponsor • Kept a detailed design notebook for the project • Performed tests to ensure the design worked without altering the frequency of the viola
3D Scanning Platform (3D Print/Manufacturing/Additive UIC) • Designed a platform and tripod that could be used to capture a 3d model of an object • Created 3D models of platform, tripod and motor housing unit in SolidWorks • Used a stepper motor and an Arduino UNO to control the movement • Coded the Arduino UNO to allow for rotation of the platform which then rotated the object • Captured 3D of objects using a Kinect sensor • Made design adjustments to ensure that the objects would be captured with the best accuracy Human and Robotic Ankle Foot Orthosis Co-Adaptation Training (Assistive Robotics UIC) • Created a detailed training protocol for subjects using Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFO) to help co- adaptation • Updated the controller for AFO to allow for better detection of individuals gait phases • Created a GUI to assist subjects with understanding the basis of the AFO • Developed a tactile feedback system to better assist patients in metabolic cost reduction • Made parameter adjustments and design alterations to better assist subjects with metabolic cost reduction
