About the role:
Developers are at the heart of our team. We want smart, flexible thinkers for whom programming is second nature. As a junior member of our Engineering team, you’ll gain valuable, hands-on software development under the guidance of experienced engineers in a high-growth, startup environment. Our goal is always to build long-term relationships with our interns to consider full-time career opportunities after graduation or beyond.
• Location: US based remote
• Typical schedule: Flexible arrangements; overlap with US Eastern/time zone preferred
• Duration: Summer 2024; option to extend beyond
• Classification: Part-time employee; must be able to work at least 30 or more hours per week during school breaks

What you’ll be doing:
• Collaborate with the development team on the chat experience for data analysis to understand our software requirements while designing efficient automation tests
• Design effective and scalable code within our tech stack which includes: Typescript (React), Python (web server), and Java (data server)
• Develop back-end components to improve responsiveness and overall performance
• Integrate user-facing elements into applications
• Test and debug programs
• Improve functionality of existing systems
• Implement security and data protection solutions

Requirements
Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, HTML and CSS required
• Currently enrolled in an accredited university/college and pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field; recent graduates and/or career professionals may be considered
• Experience working with testing frameworks, Jenkins and Git
• Experience with multiple tech stacks, databases and processes; including experience working with large language models is a major plus
• Strong problem-solving skills with a team first attitude
• Legally authorized to work in the US for any employer
