Team Intro
Our User Operations team is focused on bringing a world-class experience to our users. We're looking for a self-motivated data scientist to lead in deepening our understanding of our users' experience through the feedback they provide us and the way they interact with our platform. You will be responsible for creating processes and reporting to highlight learnings around users' general engagement with TikTok as well as feature-specific interactions. Your work will play a guiding role in shaping decision-making around product iteration and how we communicate with our users. If large data sets excite you, you have a track record of creating narratives that drive action and you thrive in working through ambiguity, this is the role for you.

In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.

Responsibilities
- Be a technical and strategic partner for the Privacy & Legal teams.
- Set up and implement A/B testing.
- Create and maintain complex datasets involving derivative user data.
- Incorporate automation wherever possible to improve data pipelines and analyses.
- Use regression modeling and machine learning to provide important insights on user experience.
- Build and maintain documentation to ensure data accessibility.
- Create business impact with data and proactively generate insights and solutions for business partners to assist the business in achieving their goals.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above, major in mathematics, statistics, computer is preferred; or major in science or engineering or engaged in data statistics, analysis, modeling related working areas after graduation;
- 2+ years working experience in data analysis, experience in applied science.
- Mastery of Python & SQL

Preferred Qualifications
- Causal inference with experimentation (eg. AB, AA , factorial designs) and/or leveraging observational data (eg. contextual bandit, matching algorithms).
- 2+ years of experience working with statistical data analysis such as linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, sampling methods.
-Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Mode Analytics/Chartio/Tableau/Qlikview)

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $108300 - $168800 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
