Position Summary
As a Data Scientist within CVS Health's Digital Workplace area, you will be crucial in driving technical innovation and advancing our GenAI applications within the organization.

You will assist in designing, architecting, and implementing our GenAI solutions for our colleagues, ensuring optimal performance, productivity, and collaboration for our employees.

This key role will help transform how our 300,000+ associates find information by transforming our internal knowledge base and enhancing employee productivity through RAG and GenAI. For the right technologist with diverse expertise, this could be the opportunity to redefine the meaning of a digital workplace for a respected global healthcare leader.

The ideal candidate is a hybrid between data scientist (75%) and software engineer (25%), with experience designing RAG systems, understanding optimization techniques, developing performance measurement frameworks, defining complex metadata schemas, and able to write microservices and deploy them using Kubernetes.
Previous experience designing advanced RAG systems is required. You should have a GenAI portfolio that highlights your experience. Demonstrated taxonomy and ontology experience is also highly desirable.

As a data scientist on CVS’s Colleague Experience AI developer team, you will implement high-priority AI enterprise-level initiatives and work with the latest tools in the GenAI space.

Required Skills
Soft Skills

Data Science Skills
• Deploy and maintain knowledge ingestion pipelines and integration into API -based services.
• Strong knowledge of data cleansing, NLP, regex, and optimization strategies for RAG.
• Create advanced metadata schemas that generalize to data from various sources.
• Stay current on the latest GenAI trends, frameworks, and coding practices.

Software Development Skills
• Solve complex problems by writing and testing application code, developing and validating data
pipelines, and automating tests and deployment.
• Proficiency in designing and building in cloud environments such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.
• Uphold quality through DevOps pipeline, unit-, integration-, and end-to-end testing.

Required Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience programming with Python.
• 2+ years of experience with a public cloud (Azure preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in Git and version control.
• 2+ years of NLP experience using tools such as NLTK, SpaCy, and Beautiful soup
• 2+ years using Scikit-learn
• 1+ years of Langchain experience.
• 1+ years of LLM experience building RAG systems at scale (10,000+ documents).
• Familiarity with concepts such as Agents, adding memory to LLMs, routing, moderating content,
parsing output
• 1+ year’s experience with vector databases such as MongoDB Atlas or Pinecone

Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree preferred.
• Excellent communication and planning skills.
• Portfolio of LLM applications and sample projects
• 1+ years with Cosmos DB or other graph databases
• 1+ years experience in DevOps with Github Actions or similar CI/CD tools.
• 1+ years of writing and deploying microservices
• 1+ years of Kubernetes experience
• Strong code refactoring skills
• Strong debugging skills

Education
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or related field from an accredited university.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$75,705.00 - $154,500.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
