What you can expect
In this role you will manage and monitor the Zoom Kubernetes clusters within different infrastructures. You will also design and implement reliability best practices to accomplish a highly available service (99.99%). Additionally, you will identify and fix problems in Kubernetes operators, submitting code fixes to OSS if needed. Contributing to capacity planning, and anticipating performance bottlenecks are critical to success. You will also troubleshoot production issues and set up CI/CD pipelines with version control systems. Finally, you will monitor and resolve issues in all environments based on metrics setup.

About the Team
You will be part of a DevOps team responsible for deploying and operating datacenter and cloud software infrastructure at Zoom. The broader team is responsible for DevOps Platforms including cloud orchestration infrastructure and uptime-critical security services at Zoom. In this role you will help to guide, implement, and operate our cloud orchestration infrastructure.

What we’re looking for
• Understand Kubernetes and containers, worked with common infrastructure tools like Docker, terraform, Helm
• Understand each component of Kubernetes control plane
• Understand common network protocols and network architecture (such as BGP, ARP, NDP), Kubernetes CNI principles(e.g. Calico), and kernel network stack.
• Experience in troubleshooting iptables, IPVS, eBPF.
• Experience with build automation and configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g. Jenkins, Git, Argo CD)
• Experience with logging and monitoring tools (eg. ELK stack, Prometheus/Thanos, Grafana, Alertmanager)
• Experience setting up Kubernetes clusters in physical data center by automation tools (e.g. Kubespray, kubeadm, rancher cluster api based)
• Experience with software development in one or more programming languages (eg Python, Go)
• Able to participate in on-call shifts and incident management and work after hours/weekends for infra change/deployment

Minimum:
$118,600.00
Maximum:
$259,500.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.
