Our Engineer I is a key member of the engineering staff working across the organization to provide 
a friction-less experience to our customers and maintain the highest standards of protection and availability. The ideal candidate can produce high quality code and leverage their technical skills to contribute to significant business initiatives.

Position Responsibilities  
As an Engineer I, you will: 
• Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems 
• Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle  
• Participate in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization 
• Utilize programming languages like Python, C# or other object-oriented languages, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and services 
• Build product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solution 
• Work on data ingestion, consumption, and web service features
• Leverage open-source and cloud native technologies to build solutions that further the vision of the organization
• Contribute to areas such as Model Deployment Frameworks, Machine Learning Platform Automation, Front-end Development, Data Visualization, and Data Engineering
• Work with senior engineers to define, create, and support reusable application components/patterns from a business and technology perspective
• Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across team
• Collaborate with data scientists, architects, and engineers on the big data ecosystem that enables our team to build efficiency and improve our customers’ experience
• Contribute to significant business initiatives, attend scrum meetings, and give presentations
• Solve difficult problems, learn new technologies, and push the boundaries of what is possible
• Work to understand and build product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solution 

 Qualifications  
• Experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design 
• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and core computer science concepts
• Basic understanding of existing Operational Portals such as Azure Portal  
• Basic understanding of HTML-5, JavaScript/TypeScript, XML, JSON, and RESTful Web Services 
• Basic understanding of monitoring tools
• Basic understanding of PowerShell scripting
• Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication) 
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills  
• Strong oral and written communication skills  
• Hands-on experience with user requirements, web applications, coding reviews and code quality
• Strong coding skills, with the ability to produce high quality code that is reusable and repeatable without being overly complex
• Well-rounded experiences outside of the classroom with different technologies, resulting in projects that demonstrate strong engineering skills and abilities

Experience  
• Professional software development experience or internship experience 

Education  
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience  

Annual Salary
$70,000.00 - $157,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
