About the job
The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will work on containerizing the existing software and deploy them on OpenShift and create operators and modify the configurations to fulfill the hardware or any other requirements for better performance and results. Additionally, analyze the changes needed in the Red Hat products based on the enhancements, issues detected and for feature additions.

What you will do
• Collaborate with other team members during requirement analysis, design and development of new or existing applications and integrating with other systems
• Be responsible for cloud-native software development and containerization of existing software on OpenShift
• Build OpenShift and Kubernetes operators using Operator-SDK and GO language and develop and maintain Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform content (modules and plugins) for automating cloud solutions
• Develop the cloud native software and process involved in unit and integration testing and review the requirement, validate the existing system and analyze the gaps or features, and document the gap analysis, proposed solution and any steps involved in installations
• Install and configure Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes systems based on requirements, like on-prem or multiple hybrid clouds
• Be responsible for logging and monitoring applications observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana
• Capture and analyze performance data and make recommendations to improve software and infrastructure usage and reliability
• Design and build cloud-based DevOps solutions, including automated infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, compliance and security solutions, container-based technologies
• Contributing code with software engineering team using Git workflow

What you will bring
• Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in computer science, computer engineering, information systems or related field and 1+ year of experience in the job offered or related role
• 1+ year of experience with: OpenShift or Kubernetes technologies; DevOps and related tools like Ansible, Jenkins, or GitOps; Java or Go; Linux administration and command line tools; and GitHub and GitLab code repository tools

Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
