My name is Megha Vijendra and I am a graduate student at the University of Texas at Arlington, pursuing M.S. degree in Computer Science majoring in Artificial Intelligence and Database systems. My expected graduation date is May of 2021. I am currently looking for intern/assistantship positions available at UTA.
To prepare for my career, I earned my bachelor’s degree from Visvesvaraya Technological University, India, and completed an internship to gain the field experience needed to begin my career. I have knowledge of theoretical applications and the ability to help develop new technology to solve many of the problems associated with the computer industry.
Currently, I am working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the College of Business, Department of Finance, and real Estate. I have been a part of the development team which designed and developed a website – moneyabcs.org as a part of the department's Financial Literacy Program. Having been a part of a team has taught me a lot, from learning new technologies like NodeJS and ReactJS to developing leadership skills, teamwork, communication skills, the ability to motivate others and multitasking.

Projects
1. Control of Cyberbullying using Semantic Enhanced Marginalized Denoising Autoencoder
• Developed an online social network that is safe from textual based cyberbullying by monitoring the activities of the users.
• Constructed a Cyberbullying detection model that will detect and block bullying posts from being posted on social media by using a machine learning technique called Semantic Enhanced Marginalized Denoising Autoencoder.
• Presented this project at a conference held by Computer Society of India.
Tech-stack: Java, Apache Server, MySQL, NetBeans IDE (PHP)
2. Apolita – Educational App
• A cross platform native educational app which focuses on the training of future community managers. It includes features like learning through interactive materials such as videos, quizzes and documents contributed by an experienced instructor
• Created and implemented custom UI controls for various functions such as sliding, panning and gesture recognition.
• Reduced the app size by 50%, from 22MB to 12MB by optimizing caches and images, removing unused libraries and offloading media.
Tech-stack: React Native, JavaScript, MySQL, Git.
3. Centralized directory management system
• A directory management system consisting of a server which the clients can connect to over a socket and assign threads to each client so that the clients can perform different operations on the server.
• Created and implemented the front-end using Tkinter python through which the clients can connect to server and synchronization is maintained with the server.
• Improved the performance of the server by implementing sequence dependent operations for maintain its logs.
