I am a Mechanical Engineer with a master’s degree from Clemson University with an emphasis on Product Design, Manufacturing, Quality Control and Statistics. I am actively seeking full time opportunities in the aforementioned fields of Mechanical Engineering starting June 2020 and willing to relocate for the same.
My academic background is in Design and Manufacturing, wherein I have completed multiple individual as well as group projects like designing robot kits, optimizing design of wishbone suspension, casting simulations and statistical analysis. These projects have instilled in me traits like leadership, perseverance, attention to detail and problem solving. Furthermore, they also helped me acquire proficiency in CAD, DFM, FEA and programming skills.
I am a certified LSSGB professional and have completed multiple industrial projects including Quality control and process improvement at Magna Seating South Carolina and quality improvement at Schedl Automotive Spartanburg. These projects helped me truly realize the importance and necessity of teamwork, maintaining composure and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet customer needs and project goals.
My professional aim is to engage myself in a work environment solving a gamut of engineering problems, thereby continuously adding to my knowledge, skills and experiences. I encourage you to go through my profile and contact me regarding any full-time/internship opportunities.

Experience
Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification (SSGBC) - Schedl Automotive System Service
• Applied DMAIC, 4M, Lean and Project Management methodologies to complete quality improvement project.
• Created process map, Ishikawa diagram and FMEA to identify critical requirements and problems by priority.
• Developed measurement system and performed variable gage R&R to assess precision of the proposed system.
• Resulted in reduced rework time, tooling damage ($25000) and cost of poor quality ($500/defective wheel).
Process Improvement Intern - P3 USA, Greenville, SC.
• Improved the inventory management system by performing material audits.
• Established standard operating procedures and defined paths for forklift drivers using time studies.
• Used SAP IM to deliver KPIs namely clearance of JITBs, negative stocks and confirmation of transfer orders.
• Effectively managed slow-moving material, raw material to optimize cost of the inventory and reduce wastage.
• Resulted in reduced JITB (95%) and age of inventory (80%) from 5 months to 1 month.
Quality Intern – P3 USA, Greenville, SC.
• Solved quality issues in front and rear seat plastic kits at a BMW supplier by proposing changes in the workplace.
• Tracked part quality issues using Nexus software and identified most significant defects using Pareto charts.
• Identified the potential root cause for the defects via fishbone diagram.
• Developed standard operating procedures to effectively implement vision systems (Poka-Yoke solution).
• Resulted in a reduction of 96% in the daily defect per unit from 50 to 2 defects per shift.
Manufacturing and Quality Intern - KTR Couplings Pvt Ltd, Pune, India
• Supervised manufacturing processes and assembly of flexible couplings with reference to manufacturing BOM.
• Performed quality testing via raw material inspection, physical dimensional inspection, inspecting CMM dimensional reports before shipment.

Projects
Development of a Double Wishbone Suspension System.
Designed the constrained system in Siemens NX, performed FEA analysis on the wishbone arms using ANSYS Workbench and additively manufactured the final prototype using FDM printer.
Achieved mass reduction (about 70%) by optimizing the wishbone geometry using genetic algorithm and gradient based methods in VisualDOC and modeFRONTIER.
Casting simulation using Inspire Cast.
Designed a gating system in SolidWorks using ASTM B108B standard for turbulence-free mold filling of round dog bone shaped tensile test specimens along with optimum casting parameters.
Minimized the casting defects of cold shuts, air entrapment, hot spots and porosity by improving the gating design based on the results obtained from filling and solidification analysis.
Introduction to Statistical Computing using R.
Performed statistical analysis in R on an EPL (soccer league) dataset to identify the KPIs of successful teams.
Developed regression model to predict the number of wins in a season for a team based on the identified KPIs.
Design and Prototype a robot kit suitable for 4th to 7th grade students.
Designed a soccer robot kit for 4th to 7th grade students applying the design methodologies for concept generation to selection, QFD, prototyping, systems engineering, functional models, Design for X and FMEA.
Responsible for creating 3D CAD models, additive manufacturing of prototype using FDM printer and developing a business model for the kit using the Harvard business case study.
Design and Fabrication of Material Handling System.
Developed a material handling system utilizing the concept of ‘Block and Tackle’ to lift heavy work pieces.
Led the project from concept to implementation, created 3D CAD models, drawings and bill of materials for both parts and assemblies, manufactured a working prototype and carried out final testing.
Reduced worker fatigue (50%), improved cycle time, increased worker safety and cost savings (about 60%).
