Projects:
Standard Rate Card:
Reason: The Account Managers at Wayfair were not able to have a control over the margin they generated with each supplier
Scope: To incorporate a new standard rate card that segregates all the item we sell into 9 product profiles. And Each product profile has a standard fulfillment and storage fee associated with it. If a customer places an order for a supplier's item in our inventory, the fulfillment fee we charge on that item will be based on the product profile under which that item falls in.
My contribution:
Cost Predictive model:
Scope: To find the maximum number of items that can fit inside a cardboard box in order to increase the utilization percentage of the cardboard boxes and decrease the cost per unit of the items that get packed into those card board box
Input: The dimensions of the Cardboard boxes and the dimension of all the materials in the inventory
Process: The model, pivots the dimension of each items in the inventory against the dimensions of the cardboard boxes based on various conditions
Output: The model tells us the maximum number of items that could fit inside a single box. (say if we were fitting only 2 items into a cardboard box, this model tells us that we can fit 3 items in it). Therefore the utilization of the cardboard increases and the cost of the cardboard box spread of the number of the items increases, hence the cost per unit decreases.
